Dr. Kevin Yip of Singapore Sports and Orthopedic Clinic had obtained his medical degree from St. Thomas’ Hospital London, England. After completing his post-graduate training in London, in 1990 Dr Yip received his fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Before moving to Hong Kong, he gained tremendous amount of experience while working in several hospital units in England.

In Hong Kong he soon became a Associate Professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Prince of Wales Hospital where he was engaged in extensive research in various fields, in particular the knees and shoulder. After leaving Hong Kong, Dr Yip joined the Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore as an orthopedic surgeon and consultant. Besides general orthopedics, he also specializes in knee and shoulder surgery.

Dr Ambrose Yung is a specialist orthopedic consultant with experience in partial knee replacement, complex primary total knee replacement, revision knee replacement, minimal invasive knee and shoulder sports surgery.

After his orthopedic specialist qualification, he was awarded 1-year fellowship in world renowned Nuffield Orthopedic Centre, Oxford University Hospital and Hip & Knee Division, Southampton University Hospital. During his fellowship, he was well trained in minimal invasive partial knee replacement and complex total knee replacement, computer navigational partial and total knee replacement.

Dr Yung was awarded Minister for Health Award, Singapore for his contribution to medical relief in Indonesian Earthquake, 2006. After his voluntary medical work in SARS 2003, he was awarded Certificate of Honor, Hospital Authority of Hong Kong for his contribution in fighting against SARS.

He is Senior Clinical Lecturer in Department of Orthopadic Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and Clinical Physician Faculty, Singhealth Residency.

Spinal Specialist Neurosurgeon

Dr. Mathew Tung specialises in treating disorders of the brain and spine with special interest in back pain and neck pain, nerve pain and headache.. He believes that neurosurgery should always consider the non-invasive options before open surgery to attain minimum morbidity and a fast return to optimum function.

In spinal disorders, Dr. Tung aims for motion preservation, reversible treatments that can be repeated in preference to fusion. In the last 15 years he has performed operations using non-invasive techniques like stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) for brain tumours, minimally invasive techniques with endoscope-assisted method to access the pituitary adenoma, treat hydrocephalus and ventricular tumours, spinal laminectomy for spinal tumours, facet joint injections, cervical and lumbar disc replacements, spinal decompression and fusion, and endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy for sweaty palms.

Dr. Tung pursues continued medical education eagerly and keeps abreast of latest techniques by attending courses and attachments in Europe (SRS, SRT, spinal surgery and disc replacement), America (skull base approaches to acoustic neuroma) and China (endovascular techniques for vascular disorders).

Dr. Chee Kin Ghee completed his Hand Surgery Specialty training in Singapore and pursued his post-training sub-specialty

fellowship in United Kingdom (UK). He had the privilege to complete his 12-month fellowship training in Wrightington Hospital, Upper Limb Unit, which is one of the tertiary referral centres in the UK renowned for their pioneering work in modern joint replacement.

In addition to common bony, soft tissue and nerve conditions of the upper limb, Dr Chee’s subspecialty and interest are in Hand and Wrist arthroplasty and arthroscopy which include joint replacement and reconstruction. He is trained in prosthetic and soft tissue joint reconstruction and replacement, as well as minimally invasive hand and wrist ligamentous injuries treatment.

Dr.Bharathi Mohan is a doctor with the Singapore Sports & Orthopedic Clinic. After graduating from medical school in India from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), he moved to Singapore in 2010 and started working as a Medical officer in multiple disciplines like General Medicine, rehabilitation medicine, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedic Surgery and has rotated to various local teaching hospitals like Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, Alexandra Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Ren-Ci Community and Ang-Mo Kio Community Hospital.
